Vasco ‘to consider’ move for Jhon Córdoba as priority No nine | OneFootball

Vasco have made Colombian centre-forward Jhon Córdoba of Krasnodar a priority for the number nine role in the season's second half. They are monitoring terms, no formal bid has been lodged, and he is under contract in Russia until June 2027.

According to NT Vascaínos, his name is on the football department's desk and he is viewed very favourably internally.

Pedro Emanuel wants immediate attacking help and Córdoba's numbers back the case. He hit 19 goals and nine assists in 36 Russian league games last season, 22 goals and 10 assists in 41 across the campaign.

Talks are considered difficult given Krasnodar's firm stance. The club value his physical and aerial threat and want between 10 and 12 million euros, around R$ 60 to 70 million. Their staff regard him as key and are unlikely to ease a move to South America.

Vasco are also assessing quick wide options, including Uruguay winger Brian Rodríguez of América-MX, and have signed midfielder Santiago Sosa. The aim is to complete the squad for a push up the Campeonato Brasileiro table.
