Vasileios Pavlidis joins Unia Skierniewice, leaders of Poland’s second tier | OneFootball

Vasileios Pavlidis, the 23-year-old centre-back and brother of Benfica striker Vangelis Pavlidis, has signed for Unia Skierniewice, leaders of Poland’s second division.

According to Glorioso 1904, the Greek defender can also operate at left back and has had spells in Germany, the Netherlands and Greece with Schalke 04, AZ Alkmaar and AEK Athens.

The Polish club regard the move as strengthening their back line and have outlined ambitious objectives for the season.

Pavlidis expressed excitement about the challenge, said his brother strongly supports and advises him, and noted they sometimes play together.

At Benfica this season, Vangelis Pavlidis, valued at 35 million euros, has played 45 competitive matches, totalling 3,698 minutes. He has 28 goals and five assists, with 25 appearances in Liga Portugal Betclic, 14 in the Champions League, three in the Taça de Portugal, two in the Taça da Liga and one in the Supertaça.
