According to Superdeporte, Víctor Fernández júnior, the 18-year-old left-footer who joined from Levante in the summer, is flourishing for Valencia Mestalla, and the club hold an option to buy for around 100,000 euros until the end of May. On Sunday his eighth Segunda RFEF Group 3 goal salvaged a 1-1 draw away to Reus, a promotion contender.
He has played 24 league games, 1,556 minutes, with eight goals, plus one in the Premier League International Cup against Leicester under-21s, and one assist. He has become key for Miguel Ángel Angulo.
His eight league goals have been worth nine points, including a brace in the 3-2 win over Olot and strikes in the 2-1 victory against Torrent and draws with Castellón B, Andratx, Barça Atlètic and Reus. He also scored in a 1-3 loss to Reus and set up a 2-2 draw with Poblense.
He sits in the group’s top five scorers, level on eight with several others, and is the only player under 20 among them.
Mestalla are 13th and in the relegation play-off, six points above direct-drop side Atlètic Lleida. Castellón B, Ibiza and Olot sit on 31 points, two ahead of Angulo’s team. Barça B, fifth, visit Antonio Puchades on Saturday at 16:00.
With no academy debuts in Primera this season, Víctor júnior is among the candidates. The coaches favour a permanent deal, though Levante have not yet received formal notice. His contract at Levante runs to June 2028.
