At 40 years old Cristiano Ronaldo continues to redefine what longevity means in world football. The Al Nassr captain added yet another milestone to his glittering career on Saturday scoring and receiving the Goal of the Week award before inspiring his team to 3-1 victory over Neom SC in the Saudi Pro League (Roshn League).
Ronaldo who had already claimed the same accolade for matchweek 5 was honoured again pre-kickoff for his dazzling solo strike against Al Fayha when he rounded the goalkeeper before calmly slotting home.
A few hours later, he was back on the scoresheet netting from the penalty spot to help Al Nassr secure their eighth consecutive league win of the season.
The goal lifted Ronaldo’s tally to 9 this season, level with Joshua King of Al Khaleej and just one behind current top scorer Joao Felix (10).
More importantly, it brought the Portuguese icon to 953 career goal in official matches just 47 shy of the mythical 1000 goal mark.
"It’s dream that keeps me motivated every day" Ronaldo said recently. "Scoring goals is what I’ve done all my life and I’ll keep pushing as long as my body allows it"
Ronaldo’s influence remains enormous both on and off the pitch. He has now directly contributed to 100 goal in the Saudi Pro League — 83 scored & 17 assisted in just 85 appearance according to Bolavip.
