Pedro Neto has just fired in a lovely finish to put Chelsea ahead against Hull, just as half time was closing in.

Chelsea lead in the FA Cup! After a frustrating half full of missed chances, it was first team regular Pedro Neto who stepped up and got the job done.

The Portugal star has been used as the number ten tonight – not something we expected, to be honest. But he made it count here. After some nice one touch play through the middle, striker Liam Delap laid the ball off to the Portugal star.

He took one touch to get it out of his feet, then banged it left footed, a lovely strike from outside the box into the bottom corner.

It’s been an immensely frustrating first half at times given the chances missed, and we hope this effort gives the team a little more confidence. They need to rattle in a couple more so we can take off the likes of Moises Caicedo.

All signs are promising though, and with 45 minutes left to play we’re expecting a win. Who knows, maybe we’ll even get to see young Jesse Derry or Shim Mheuka in the second half? That would make an otherwise pretty standard cup tie a little more interesting.

In other news…

Chelsea have a few players out there tonight who will really want a chance to impress. We listed four of them here, with Delap not doing that so far.

One Rosenior call we’re really not sure about is picking Moises Caicedo for his ELEVENTH start since the turn of the year. It seems an unnecessary risk to us…
