Chelsea’s legends game against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge was great fun in the buildup.

Seeing all our favourites training at Cobham and then back at Stamford Bridge was really special.

Friendly doesn’t live up to high hopes

The game didn’t live up to it, sadly. Chelsea lost and didn’t even score a goal. The most fun part was watching Eden Hazard warm up, seal dribbles and all.

Hilariously, it was noted the famously laid back Belgian hadn’t even turned up for the two days of very relaxed training the other players had at Cobham this week. It seems it wasn’t just Antonio Conte’s sessions he didn’t like. You literally can’t pay this guy to train. But when you’re that good, do you really need to?

He’s certainly carrying a bit more timber than he was a few years ago – but not that much more, if we’re honest.

Diego Costa injects some energy with Srktel beef

Another notable moment had come earlier in the game when Diego Costa managed to get in a fight with Martin Skrtel.

The Slovak defender took out Costa with a big slide tackle, and the Brazilian then leapt to his feet to square up to him in very familiar fashion.

We assumed it was mostly just a bit of friendly mock aggression, but the massive barge in the back Costa gave the former Liverpool defender soon after proved it was very much not that. There was plenty of back and forth between players after that, with all of them looking a bit awkward given this is supposed to be a friendly charity game.

We’re sure they will make up and have a hug at full time…
