Villas-Boas: We don’t mistreat Benfica fans, security not our job

André Villas-Boas addressed journalists during a tribute to Mateus Mide, FC Porto midfielder and European and World U-17 champion, held at the Vila Nova de Gaia City Hall. On Thursday afternoon, the president of the Dragons responded to Benfica’s statement denouncing the behavior of security forces towards fans at the Dragão.

“The only thing I can point out are the tears I see on the bench occupied by Benfica, as well as endless damage to the stands and restrooms. We do not want to mistreat Benfica fans. FC Porto does not give orders to the security forces during inspections. We have nothing to do with that.”
