A new name has been added to Roma’s shortlist for the next head coach to lead the team in a new long-term project.
After Claudio Ranieri ruled out Gian Piero Gasperini’s eligibility to become Roma’s new manager, today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport added another candidate into the mix.
The newspaper cites Vincenzo Italiano as one of the profiles Roma are keen on and whose progress at Bologna they have been monitoring.
It remains to be seen whether Italiano would be convinced to move to Roma based on their finish in Serie A standings in the coming weeks.
A place in the Europa League or the Champions League would profoundly change the appeal of the Giallorossi bench.
The eventual qualification would increase the appeal of the technical project, making Roma an even more interesting destination for an ambitious coach.
