Real Madrid took home a 3-1 win over Villarreal last night on match day eight of La Liga, taking their tally to 21 points of a possible 24.
The hero of the night was Vinicius Jr. who looked more lively, determined and close to his best and he scored once from open play, once from the penalty spot and could well have even had a hat-trick to his name.
A late goal from Kylian Mbappe eventually sealed the 3-1 win despite a late fight back from the visitors.
Brace-scorer Vinicius faced the media after the game and was unsurprisingly pleased with how the match shaped up for him.
However, he began by admitting that the game was challenging on multiple fronts.
“It was a very difficult match. We played against a team that’s playing really well in LaLiga.
“I’m very happy to win again at the Bernabeu and to have played a good match in front of our fans.”
“Hopefully we can keep it up, improving step by step, because it’s a long season,” he added.
Speaking on his individual performance on the night, the Brazilian star said,
“I think I played very well, I want to carry on like this to continue helping the team.

“I know the confidence I have and everything I’ve done here. I want to keep doing more and more.”
Playing at Santiago Bernabeu is a dream for any player in the Real Madrid colours given the outpouring of love from the fans in the stands. Speaking of the supporters, the player said,
“The fans and this ground are everything to us. We have to keep it up to win the League because we know it’s going to be very difficult.
“We can’t drop points in our home games.”
Finally, the player signed off by revealing how the dressing room felt heading into the international break after a very vital win over Villarreal.
“We’re going away with good feelings. When we come back, we have some big games and we have to be confident.
“Let’s hope that none of us who are going away with our national teams come back injured because the season is very long.”
