Vitor Pereira has confirmed he has been sacked by Nottingham Forest, with Oliver Glasner expected to become the new head coach.
According to the Guardian, the 51-year-old Glasner is expected to sign a three-year contract with Forest, which would make him the fifth head coach appointed by Evangelos Marinikas in less than a year.
Pereira signed an 18-month deal at the City Ground in February, steering Forest to Premier League safety and a Europa League semi-final. It was claimed he was told late on Tuesday that a break clause would be triggered, his contract having expired on 30 June.
In a statement, Pereira said the decision came without warning, adding that he respects the club's right to choose its path. He thanked staff, players and supporters, expressed disappointment, but said he departs with pride, gratitude and warm memories.
Glasner left Crystal Palace this summer after signalling he would depart at the end of his deal, and he had been linked with several leading European clubs. Chelsea and Manchester United considered him, and AC Milan looked at him before opting for Ruben Amorim.
During his time at Selhurst Park he won the FA Cup in 2024/25, then lifted the Conference League the following season.
