Vitor Pereira says Nottingham Forest will focus on themselves rather than Leeds United or other strugglers after a 3-0 win at Tottenham lifted them three points clear of the drop into 16th, a point behind Leeds.
“It’s not about anyone else! It’s about us and what we want to be as a team,” he told BBC Radio Nottingham.
Leeds drew 0-0 with Brentford, Tottenham lost, and 18th-placed West Ham were beaten 2-0 at Aston Villa. With Wolves and Burnley as good as down, one from four looks set to join them in May.
“It’s not about Tottenham, it’s not about West Ham, and it’s not about Leeds. I want us to play without fear and with confidence.”
Leeds are winless in the Premier League since beating Forest 3-1 in early February and have not scored in their last four. Back-to-back draws with Crystal Palace and Brentford have prevented a slide towards West Ham.
Daniel Farke’s side face all of the bottom four in their final seven matches, with Wolves and Burnley due at Elland Road and trips to Tottenham and West Ham to come.
Thirteen Leeds players are on international duty, the rest remain at Thorp Arch. They have just under two weeks to prepare for an FA Cup quarter-final at West Ham, then eight days before a league visit to Manchester United.
