Palmeiras pressed on with interseason work on Saturday morning at the Academia de Futebol, sharpening up for the return of official competitions. According to Nosso Palestra, the squad completed another session led by the coaching staff.
After muscle activation in the Centro de Excelência and a warm-up on the grass, players were split into two teams of 11 for a 45-minute full-pitch training match.
As in recent days, academy prospects joined the senior group, with the Crias da Academia continuing to be assessed during the preparation period.
Recovering from left ankle surgery carried out in early May, forward Vitor Roque followed his rehabilitation plan. Wearing the number 9, he worked inside the training complex and also went onto the pitch with support from the Núcleo de Saúde e Performance.
After the session the Alviverde squad lunched at the Academia de Futebol before being released. The Verdão are due back on Sunday morning.
Palmeiras’ next official match is on 23 July at 21:30, away to Coritiba at Estádio Couto Pereira in Curitiba, in round 19 of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
The Paulista champions lead the national competition with 41 points and are through to the last 16 of the Libertadores and the Copa do Brasil, where they will face Cerro Porteño and Fortaleza respectively.
