Wallace Yan has addressed his near departure from Flamengo after a proposed move to Red Bull Bragantino stalled.

According to Coluna Do Fla, Flamengo reached agreement in early January on a transfer worth around 10 million euros. The 21-year-old even posted a farewell on social media. Bragantino then changed the terms, requesting half the fee be paid based on targets, which Flamengo rejected.

As the impasse grew, Flamengo refused to authorise a medical in Bragança Paulista and reinstated the forward to the squad. He was left out for five successive matches before returning to the list of options, initially under Filipe Luís and now also with Leonardo Jardim in charge.

Yan said he did not know what would happen, adding that until he signs anything he remains a Flamengo player, which he called his home, and that the matter was left with his agents and the club.

Jardim has a track record of backing youth, having brought through Kylian Mbappé and Bernardo Silva, so the forward could gain further chances, particularly given the coach's preference for mobile attackers.

With Yan available, Flamengo prepare to face Cruzeiro at the Maracanã on Wednesday 11, kick-off 21:30 Brasília time, in the fifth round of the Campeonato Carioca.
