Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford reveals he and his teammates are eager to regain their best form under the tutelage of Ruben Amorim.
The 27-year-old enjoyed a splendid outing against Everton as the Portuguese manager made his first Premier League appearance at Old Trafford.
Rashford was the author of a lovely brace, while Joshua Zirkzee scored two goals as well to end the contest 4-0.
The England international broke the deadlock in the 34th minute from a corner kick he won himself. Bruno Fernandes’ delivery reached Rashford on the edge of the box, and the latter sent his shot towards the crowd and was helped home by Jarrad Braithwaite. He then added a second just 20 minutes after the restart.
After the final whistle, the Man United striker expressed his delight with the result, insisting that the team is looking to find its feet after a torrid start to the season.
“It is a nice result. It is important with a new coach and a new way of playing, when we are still learning. We have to back up this performance and win in midweek,” said the United Number 10 in his post-match interview with Sky Sports.
“We all, as individuals, want to get back to our best and then push to improve so even in the bad moments you are doing the right thing.”
Rashford explains how the arrival of Amorim has re-energised the ranks, as the 39-year-old arrived at Carrington with a great attitude.
“The connection is going to build and grow the more we get used to him. He’s [Ruben Amorim] come in in a busy period and hopefully the connection keeps building and growing. He’s come in with a great attitude and it’s passed onto the players.
“The atmosphere is one of the most special things about his club and playing at this great stadium is always a great feeling.
“It is early on but I feel energised and ready for the next game. This game has only just finished but the next one is always the focus for the players.”
