Wes Burns is expected to have a Leicester City medical as a move from Ipswich Town draws near.

The Telegraph reports the 31-year-old is closing in on a switch to the King Power Stadium this summer, and also claims striker Admir Bristrić is set to join. LeicestershireLive reported on Sunday that Leicester hold an interest in the Bosnian.

Burns is among those available for transfer after Ipswich's promotion to the Premier League. He signed a new one-year deal in July but is now set to leave after a major role in their rise.

Leicester are short on the right after Abdul Fatawu's £23m switch to the Tractor Boys. Russell Martin has trialled teenager Riley Carr and wing-back Woyo Coulibaly there in pre-season. Burns would also reunite with Conor Chaplin, who signed a three-year deal after leaving Ipswich.

The Wales international joined Ipswich from Fleetwood in 2021 and brings extensive EFL experience after spells with Bristol City, Forest Green Rovers, Oxford United, Cheltenham Town, Fleetwood Town and Aberdeen. He hit 12 goals and 7 assists in his first season, then 8 and 14 in their promotion year under Kieran McKenna. In 2024 he helped secure back-to-back promotions with 6 goals and 4 assists, before 18 Premier League outings.

Burns suffered an ACL injury against Liverpool at the start of 2025. He returned on Boxing Day, scored off the bench three days later in a 2-0 win at Coventry, then netted again at Southampton in April.
