West Brom head coach James Morrison has hailed the early impact of new technical director Dominic Price, praising his enthusiasm and fresh voice around the club in his first month.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the Englishman, 35, joined at the start of March from Maccabi Tel Aviv and will take a strategic brief across academy, analysis and medical. He is expected to be a key presence at the Walsall training base.

Morrison said Price has been in daily at The Hawthorns, offering support and fresh eyes, and he believes it is a good appointment. He added that Price is eager to help drive the club forward and is confident he will flourish with support.

Price headed performance analysis in Blackpool’s promotion-winning season before becoming a first-team analyst at Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp, having earlier been a youth player and academy coach there. He was highly regarded at Anfield and his departure for Israel was regretted.

Transfers remain the responsibility of director of football operations Ian Pearce, the long-term recruitment lead, not Price. Pearce took charge after former sporting director and club president Andrew Nestor, a confidant of Shilen Patel, left in January after 18 months overseeing recruitment.

Price is working closely with Pearce on squad planning and player pathways, and the pair have attended recent first-team games as Albion fight to stay in the Championship. Morrison said he will offer views on the six out-of-contract players this summer when asked.
