West Brom have completed the signing of Chelsea forward Jimmy-Jay Morgan on a four-year contract worth an initial £1.3m. The 20-year-old becomes Albion’s second forward recruit in as many days.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, his arrival comes a day after a £1.3m deal for Falkirk striker Barney Stewart and only hours after the confirmation of defender Carter Pinnington, taking the tally to three signings since Monday.
Morgan, who can operate up front or as an attacking midfielder, came through Southampton before moving to Chelsea. He scored 14 goals on loan at Peterborough in League One last season.
Morgan said he was delighted to join, calling the decision straightforward after interest emerged around two weeks ago and the deal moved quickly. He described a positive chat with the manager about style and development. He wants to play and learn as much as possible and hopes to score plenty while helping Albion finish higher than last season.
Pinnington, 19, has signed a three-year deal. The defender, who has also featured in midfield, will initially link up with the under-21s.
Albion are taking a proactive approach in the first window since the 2024 takeover by Bilkul Group in which slashing costs has not been the primary focus. The club await decisions from Karlan Grant and Josh Maja on new offers, with both contracts up at the end of the month. Clarity is also expected over James Morrison’s backroom team after recent talks with Celtic coach Gavin Strachan.
