West Ham United are exploring legal action against the Premier League following controversial decisions by match officials.

Manager Nuno Espirito Santo was left gutted after VAR denied the Hammers a crucial point against Arsenal at the London Stadium on Sunday.

The visitors secured a 1-0 victory, but West Ham believe they should have been awarded the goal, which was eventually ruled out.

West Ham are now ready to take action over other earlier calls this season that did not go their way.

The defeat to Arsenal means the relegation battle is now only between West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs were held to a 1-1 draw by Leeds United on Monday, and West Ham are just two points away from safety heading into the final two games of the season.

They take on Newcastle United and Leeds in their remaining fixtures, while Tottenham play Chelsea and Everton.

All these clubs have something to play for as qualification for European football and prize money are up for grabs.

West Ham have to win against Newcastle and Leeds and hope Spurs drop points to have any chance of staying up.

Relegation could push them to take legal action against the Premier League, but it will not restore their top-flight status. They must concentrate on escaping the drop.

VAR and some of the officiating have been far from perfect this term, and West Ham have been unlucky to be on the receiving end of some questionable decisions.
