West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo has not ruled out Crysencio Summerville featuring against Leeds United in Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final.
According to Leeds Live, the former Leeds attacker has been out with a calf issue for nearly three weeks, is nearing fitness, and made 89 appearances for the club.
He scored five in eight Premier League matches before the setback, but Santo is cautious and will leave any decision late after daily assessments.
Key centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo is also touch and go for Sunday after a calf problem, with the staff continuing to monitor several players post-international break.
For Leeds, Dominic Calvert-Lewin is unlikely to start after missing Thursday’s training with a hamstring complaint. He has undergone precautionary scans and the issue is not believed to be serious.
Daniel Farke will not risk starting anyone carrying doubts given the importance of the Premier League run-in.
Leeds beat West Ham 2-1 in October in Santo’s fourth match in charge. The 52-year-old expects a tougher, different contest this time, praises Leeds’ quality and believes his side must be fully switched on to compete.
