Hammers hit by key suspension ahead of Saturday’s clash
West Ham have been dealt a blow ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Brighton.
The Hammers are looking to string together some consistency after responding to their dismal defeat away at Leicester earlier this month with a win and a draw.
Julen Lopetegui’s side beat Wolves 2-1 before drawing 1-1 with Bournemouth on Monday night.
Still, their task against the Seagulls – who have never actually lost at the London Stadium – has been made all the more difficult following a recent suspension.
Midfielder Carlos Soler has started to impress of late but will be ruled out of the game after picking up a booking to take his tally to five for the season against Bournemouth. Emerson Palmieri, however, could return after sitting out of Monday’s clash.
Jean-Clair Todibo is likely to miss out too following a groin injury, whilst an unnamed player faces a late fitness test, Lopetegui has confirmed.
“It’s true that this morning we had a little problem with one player,”he revealed during his pre-match press conference on Friday. “We will have to check and assess the issue this evening on whether he will start or not, but the squad list will be very similar, and there might be one change.”
Michail Antonio underwent surgery on a lower limb fracture sustained in a road traffic accident earlier this month.
West Ham predicted XI: Fabianski; Wan-Bissaka, Mavropanos, Kilman, Emerson, Alvarez; Summerville, Soucek, Paqueta, Kudus; Bowen
Out: Antonio, Todibo
Suspended: Soler
