West Ham United travel to Elland Road on Friday night still searching for their first victory under new manager Nuno Espírito Santo.
A draw and two defeats mark a difficult start for the Portuguese coach. Consequently, the pressure is already building as the Hammers languish in the relegation zone after their worst-ever start to a Premier League season. The Hammers can, however, take some confidence from their recent record against Leeds. For instance, they have won four of the last six meetings between the sides.
Furthermore, West Ham are unbeaten in their last four visits to Elland Road. Nuno desperately needs that positive run to continue tonight. Indeed, failure to win would see him equal an unwanted club record. It would mark the longest winless start by any new manager in West Ham’s history.
Nuno Espírito Santo remains without several players for the trip. Strikers Niclas Füllkrug and George Earthy are unavailable due to injury. Additionally, defender Konstantinos Mavropanos is also out. However, midfielder Tomáš Souček returns from suspension. He could potentially make his 200th Premier League appearance tonight.
Nuno will likely make defensive changes too. Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Malick Diouf are both set to return at full-back. Further forward, Lucas Paquetá will probably operate as a false nine. He should receive support from the in-form Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville on the flanks.
West Ham United predicted XI: Areola; Wan-Bissaka, Todibo, Kilman, Diouf; Irving, Souček; Bowen, Summerville, Fernandes; Paquetá.
The Premier League fixture takes place at Elland Road tonight, Friday, 24 October 2025. Kick-off is scheduled for 8:00 pm BST.
Fans in the UK can watch the match live on Sky Sports. Coverage starts ahead of the 8:00 pm BST kick-off.
