Adama Traore says West Ham United's late fightback against Leeds United has strengthened his belief they can avoid relegation, despite an FA Cup quarter-final exit on penalties.

According to Leeds Live, the Hammers are battling Leeds, Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest to dodge what looks like the third and final drop spot, with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Burnley appearing doomed.

West Ham were knocked out by Daniel Farke's side on Easter Sunday. After trailing, injury-time goals from Mateus Fernandes and Axel Disasi forced extra time, before the tie was settled from the spot.

The winger said he was sad about the defeat yet felt positives could be taken. He highlighted the team's spirit and refusal to give up, accepted the penalty outcome was unfortunate, and said they would try to improve for the next match.

Traore added that they must move on, he believes they can stay up, and the mood would have been better with a win, although there were clear positives.

West Ham now turn to Wolves at the London Stadium on Friday night. The visitors have had three weeks to prepare and arrive with just one defeat in their last five games, as Traore looks to carry that belief into the final seven league matches.
