Three important names are missing from the Buccaneers.
What is the Orlando Pirates injury list before facing Chippa United?
Orlando Pirates face a challenging trip to Gqeberha for their upcoming Betway Premiership encounter against Chippa United, as they will be missing a number of important squad members.
The Buccaneers have managed to turn their form around following an unconvincing opening to the league season. After suffering two straight losses, the team has secured victories in their last two matches and will be aiming to extend that winning streak to three this Sunday.
This positive run of form isn’t limited to the league—Pirates also celebrated cup success after defeating rivals Mamelodi Sundowns last weekend, securing their place in yet another MTN8 final.
Currently sitting ninth in the league with six points, courtesy of home wins against Stellenbosch and newcomers Orbit College, the Sea Robbers are now focused on claiming their first away victory of the league season.
A win on Sunday could see them climb as high as the top three, depending on other results around the division.
Relebohile Mofokeng, who was unavailable for the midweek fixture against Orbit, is expected to remain sidelined for Sunday’s match. The team will also continue to be without captain Nkosinathi Sibisi and defender Deano van Rooyen, both still recovering from injuries sustained earlier in the campaign.
The match between Orlando Pirates and Chippa United is set to take place at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
