Antonio Rudiger’s actions during the last moments of the Copa del Rey final are now under serious scrutiny.
After being subbed off and sitting on the bench, the German defender lost his temper over a referee’s decision made by the referee.
In a fit of anger, the German international reacted aggressively, which led to a straight red card from the official. But that did not calm him down.
Rudiger had to be physically restrained by several members of Real Madrid’s technical staff as he continued his protests.
Things went further when he threw an ice pack at the referee and kept up his confrontational behaviour. All of this was noted in the official match report, making it difficult for Real Madrid to defend him.
Now, according to Mundo Deportivo, the club has until 2:00 PM on Tuesday to submit their case and try to avoid a harsh punishment.
However, considering the clear video evidence and the official report, it is unlikely Rudiger will escape without a lengthy ban.

Since the Copa del Rey is not considered a professional competition like La Liga, disciplinary matters are handled differently.
The outlet minions that the judge responsible for non-professional football will review the incident. His decision is expected no later than Wednesday morning.
If the offence is classified as “serious,” Rudiger could face a ban of between 4 to 12 matches.
This suspension may apply not only to Copa matches but also La Liga fixtures, depending on the ruling. Such a punishment could potentially end Rudiger’s season early, especially with only a few games remaining.
For what it is worth, this is not the first time Rudiger has landed himself in hot water.
Earlier this season in the Champions League, he received a warning from the UEFA after his antics against Atletico Madrid. As part of this warning, he was given a one-match suspension if he repeats his behaviour and a fine of approximately €40,000.
