Coventry City were not at their free-flowing best on Monday as they drew 0-0 with Hull City at the MKM Stadium. 

Despite the stalemate, Frank Lampard’s men are edging closer to sealing Premier League promotion to end their 25-year wait for a top-flight return. 

Monday started well for Coventry, as Millwall slumped to a 2-1 home defeat against Norwich City. 

Middlesbrough also dropped points, with Swansea City holding them to a 2-2 draw. 

Coventry failed to capitalise on the results and settled for a stalemate at Hull. 

Ipswich Town climbed into second place by winning their home encounter against Birmingham City. 

Coventry are 12 points clear of their promotion rivals at the top of the Championship.

When can Coventry seal Premier League promotion?

Coventry need four more points from their remaining five fixtures to secure a place in the English top-flight. 

However, considering their vastly superior goal difference of +42, three points should be enough to seal promotion. 

If Boro and Millwall drop points this weekend, Coventry will secure automatic promotion with victory over Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday. 

If not, four points from their fixtures against Wednesday and Blackburn Rovers would guarantee their Premier League spot.
