Palace have been handed a huge boost as they attempt to get back to winning ways in the Premier League.
Crystal Palace can hand a debut to Brennan Johnson as early as this weekend when they face Newcastle.
Palace agreed a £35million deal to sign Johnson in late December, but the transfer was subject to winger’s approval, which was granted before Spurs faced Brentford on New Year’s Day.
The deal edged closer to completion when Johnson was not pictured with the rest of the squad as they arrived at the Gtech Community Stadium and an official announcement followed on Friday.
For Johnson to be eligible to make his Palace bow against Newcastle, he needed to have been registered by Friday’s 12pm deadline.
A statement via the club’s official website reads: “Johnson will be eligible to make his Palace debut against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park on Sunday afternoon.”
The Wales international will wear the No11 shirt at Selhurst Park and Oliver Glasner is happy to have bolstered his attacking options.
"I’m really delighted that Brennan has joined the club,” the Palace boss said. “He arrives very early in the window, so credit to the club for making this happen so quickly.
"Brennan will give us options in our attacking play with his pace and goalscoring ability and with all the upcoming games he will be a valuable addition to the squad."
Johnson, who scored the winning goal for Spurs in last season’s Europa League final win over Manchester United, struggled for game time under Thomas Frank, during the first half of the season.
The forward started just six times in the Premier League, though he did score in his first two appearances of the campaign.
