Where there’s a Will…

It didn’t go unnoticed during Newcastle United’s Carabao Cup celebrations, that Will Osula is certainly a fun loving and enthusiastic character.
Steady Eddie has done a canny job with young Will, keeping him around the first team pool and slowly introducing him to the rigours and ethics that a burgeoning young talent needs to learn, if they are to succeed at the highest level.
I hadn’t heard of Will Osula when United paid up £10m (plus up to £5m potential future add-ons) to secure his services from Sheffield United in the summer of 2024.
So I looked him up and liked with what I saw on YouTube, a few clever and impressive finishes whilst out on loan from the Blades.
Will is young, big and strong, and I like how he holds the ball up and is also willing to turn and run at defenders.
He is fast and looks good with both feet, and also has a trick or two in his locker.
I have no doubt that Eddie Howe and Paul Mitchell will be bringing in another striker this summer, to compete with our Rolls Royce Alexander Isak.
That may even mean Will Osula going out on loan to gain experience and get more playing time under his belt.
Regardless, I believe that this lad has a cracking future lying ahead of him at St James’ Park.
Lewis Miley and Sean Neave were also on the bench at Wembley.
Whilst enjoying the celebrations on the pitch, these two fresh faced teenagers often looked in a state of bewilderment at the euphoria going on around them.
These three good young-uns have already done something that seasoned professionals and internationals didn’t do at Newcastle over the last five decades.
They have collected a winners medal as members of the Newcastle United first team squad.
