PSG’s home games are not only sell-outs, they are resold in huge numbers too. More than a fifth of seats typically change hands again on the club’s Ticketplace platform.
Sunday’s visit of OM will be the 180th consecutive sell-out at the Parc des Princes. According to L'Équipe, the European champions see 10,000 to 11,000 tickets resold on average from a 48,000-capacity ground, including 37,000 for season tickets and hospitality.
For the Classique, the club expects a slightly lower figure, around 8,000 to 9,000 resales. As of Wednesday, prices ranged from €170 in Category 14 to €448 in first category.
The recent record came in the Coupe de France round of 32 against Paris FC on 12 January, which finished 0-1. That night, 15,000 tickets changed hands on PSG Ticketplace, nearly a third of capacity.
The resale window opens once it has sold the 5,000 to 6,000 tickets for a standard top-flight match, reserved only for subscribers or Myparis members. For non-members, the second market is the only route to see Ousmane Dembélé and his team-mates.
The model maintains scarcity, curbs touts and no-shows, and keeps the stadium full. The club believes season tickets would be obsolete without a second market, given the calendar and fans’ limits.
It is also lucrative. Matchday revenue reached €177m last season, placing PSG in Europe’s top five despite a smaller capacity than rivals. On resales, the club sets a minimum price, takes 12% from the seller and charges 16% to the buyer.
