Corinthians can register a new contract for Memphis despite four transfer bans, because a renewal is treated differently from an external signing. The CBF said the Dutchman can be registered.

Memphis is under contract until 31 July and has not yet agreed to stay. His CBF and FPF registration was closed on 20 June after a club error, so he cannot play until a fresh registration is processed.

He is close to triggering another bonus worth R$ 3.1 million. The payment would fall due if he is named in two of Corinthians’ three matches this month, taking his involvement to at least 50% of games since August 2025.

Aside from Memphis and existing squad members, Corinthians are barred from registering new players because of four separate bans totalling more than R$ 23 million.

The first arrived on 21 May over around R$ 7.7 million owed to Philadelphia Union for José Martínez. On 13 July, FIFA issued a disciplinary fine of approximately R$ 1.1 million linked to previous delays in deals for Martínez, Charles from Midtjylland, and Talles Magno on loan from New York City FC.

Five days later the CBF penalised the club for an R$ 8 million delay on the fifth instalment of a CNRD agreement. The fourth ban followed last Tuesday over R$ 6.2 million owed to Midtjylland, including an unpaid 800,000 euros tranche for Charles, plus 200,000 euros, $60,000 and $25,000 in penalties and costs.
