Federico Chiesa was bought by Liverpool in a surprising move last summer but he played next to no meaningful minutes in the Premier League. This summer he was widely expected to leave with plenty of interest coming his way from Italy and Turkey. However, it looked like his decision was justified when he scored the winner in the first Premier League game of the season, against Bournemouth. Post that however, things haven’t looked up. He was omitted from Liverpool’s squad for the upcoming Champions League. Even with all that, Chiesa is determined to prove to manager Arne Slot that he is good enough to play regularly for the club. As per Gazzetta.it, Chiesa believes it is more valuable to compete at a bigger club than make an underwhelming move, keeping in mind that a return to the Italian squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup is also on his radar.
