Striker Marko Arnautovic stole the show for Inter Milan in yesterday’s 3-1 win over Cagliar, proving himself the “wild card” in Serie A.
This is the view in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They hail the Austrian as Inter’s man of the match.
Marko Arnautovic enjoyed the chance to start for Inter Milan against Cagliari yesterday.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi puts his trust in the 35-year-old former West Ham United and Bologna striker, as he opted for squad rotation between two legs of Inter’s tie against Bayern Munich.
And Arnautovic proved that he is more than just a backup option.

Right from the off, Marko Arnautovic looked lively in attack for Inter.
The Austrian showed that he is just starting to find his best form on a physical level. And it could hardly come at a better time, with the run-in of the season now in full swing.
Arnautovic scored Inter’s opener. He reacted quickly and finished sharply to finish an incisive drive into the penalty area by the Nerazzurri.
Then, the 35-year-old did even better on Inter’s second goal. His vision and weight of pass were flawless to put Inter captain Lautaro Martinez through one-on-one with Elia Caprile.
Therefore, the Gazzetta argue, Marko Arnautovic was the decisive player for Inter.
Meanwhile, the newspaper also reserve similar praise for Nerazzurri forward Joaquin Correa.
Correa has had a season of ups and downs for Inter. But he looked sharp and full of running in his substitute appearance, just what Inter needed in the second half.
