David Moyes worked wonders during his managerial stint at West Ham United.

The Scottish boss twice saved them from relegation, and then built a strong team that secured sixth and seventh-place league finishes in the Premier League.

He also ended the club’s 43-year trophy drought with the Europa Conference League triumph in 2023.

However, fans expressed dissatisfaction with Moyes’ style of football, and he left the Hammers in 2024.

Things haven’t gone well at the London Stadium since, with Julen Lopetegui and Graham Potter failing miserably to deliver results.

West Ham are the favourites to become the third team to be relegated.

Intriguingly, Moyes is in a unique position to help his former team avoid the ignominy of relegation.

‘Would love to keep West Ham’

West Ham are two points behind Tottenham Hotspur ahead of their final game of the season.

They need to defeat Leeds United and hope that Everton beat Tottenham. Even a draw will seal their fate, given Tottenham’s significantly superior goal difference.

Moyes openly said on Friday that he ‘would love to keep West Ham’ in the English top-flight by guiding Everton to a final-day victory.

Although he quickly clarified that his primary focus will be to help Everton finish in the top half of the table.

However, their recent run of form is a cause for concern, with the team winless in their last six league matches.

Everton don’t have much to play for, as their hopes for European qualification are over following last weekend’s 3-1 home loss to Sunderland.
