Will Real Madrid sign Michael Olise or Erling Haaland this summer?

It is no secret that Real Madrid want to sign Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise, but any potential move away from the Allianz Arena this summer is out of the question.

Olise enjoyed an outstanding 2025-26 campaign, scoring 20 goals and providing 25 assists for Bayern before helping France reach the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup.

The Frenchman remains a key player in Vincent Kompany’s side, but his future has come under intense speculation in recent days.

Michael Olise: What is going on?

Olise is under contract at Bayern until 2029, and the German champions remain relatively relaxed about his situation despite interest from Real Madrid.

We previously reported that Olise’s situation was “getting dangerous” for Bayern, and that appears to remain the case.

French publication L’Equipe has exclusively reported that Olise wants to move to Madrid.

It has also been reported that Real Madrid are interested in signing Manchester City striker Erling Haaland this summer.

Christian Falk has exclusively told CFBayern Insider that Real Madrid have no chance of signing either Olise or Haaland this summer, although the situation could change in the future.

Falk said: “I think Real Madrid have the same chance of signing Michael Olise as they do Erling Haaland this summer! I’m happy that they see there’s no chance of signing the Frenchman this summer, and if they move away, they’re more than welcome to try things with Haaland. Though I expect the answer to be the same. This summer: no chance. Next summer, I think it will be very interesting to see what will happen with Olise, whether he signs a new contract or not.

“If he doesn’t, Bayern have to do something. Perhaps they have to sell him. But for this summer, Michael Olise will stay at Bayern Munich. Perhaps it’s to his advantage, as this season he was in really, really good shape, but at the World Cup he only had an okay tournament. Perhaps things are calming down somewhat, as he could have proved his elite status in football in the semi-final against Spain, but he didn’t show it. Perhaps the winger knows now that he still has more to learn before he hits the absolute peak of his powers. Evidently, the rumours have quietened down, and it’s easier for FC Bayern to keep Olise if he’s not a world champion.”

Bayern Munich determined to keep Michael Olise

According to Bild, Olise has told his France teammates that he would like to leave Bayern and play for Real Madrid.

However, Bayern remain determined to keep the winger and would ideally like to extend his contract by offering him more than €25m gross per year, making him one of the club’s highest earners.

As things stand, it is unlikely that Olise will push for a move, as he is seen as someone who is happy with his life at Bayern.

Bayern have already signed Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari, and they are expected to make a few more additions, but only after offloading some fringe players.
