Arsenal centre-back William Saliba (25) has undertaken medical tests to check the extent of the injury he reportedly aggravated during Saturday’s Champions League final loss to penalties against PSG. Reports coming out of France this Monday revealed that Saliba could be out of action for weeks due to an unspecified injury, prompting fears that he won’t take part in the FIFA World Cup for France.
According to RMC Sport, Saliba does suffer from back pain, but the results of the tests he undertook are not as worrying as first feared. Saliba is therefore expected to link up with his France teammates as early as Tuesday. The Arsenal defender’s fitness will be checked in the next days, although he could miss one or the two friendly games for France before they embark on their World Cup journey.
