According to The Telegraph, the Premier League side are keen on a reunion with the centre-back, who departed Molineux in 2023.

Coady was a key figure for the Midlands outfit when they first earned promotion back to the Premier League in 2018 under Nuno Espirito Santo.

He was also with the club when new manager Rob Edwards previously worked there as a coach, giving an even greater connection to the team.

The 32-year-old is currently plying his trade with Wrexham, having joined in the summer following their promotion to the Championship.

Wolves are reportedly interested in a deal to sign Coady due to a limitation in homegrown players in their current first team squad.

However, it’s believed that a move in January is unlikely to come to fruition, even with money on offer to spend for the new manager.

Coady has been an important part of Phil Parkinson’s squad so far this season, bringing experience and leadership to the team that is looking to be competitive at this level after making a return for the first time since 1982.

The defender has made just five league appearances so far this season, with his position in the team far from guaranteed despite his experience.

However, it remains to be seen whether the Welsh outfit would be willing to let him go as soon as January.

Coady made 151 appearances across four Premier League seasons for Wolves, but it’s also unclear whether he would be open to a return to the side.

Edwards has been confirmed as their latest manager, arriving in place of Vitor Pereira after a compensation fee was agreed to let him leave Middlesbrough.

Meanwhile, Wrexham are 13th in the Championship table, having earned 21 points from their opening 15 fixtures.

Conor Coady is still useful to Wrexham despite lack of game time

Coady has four years of Premier League experience under his belt, which is very valuable to have in the dressing room at the moment.

His game time has been limited in the last couple of months, and perhaps a sale might make sense for Wrexham if a genuine offer does come in January.

The defender is still a useful asset to have in Parkinson’s squad, even if he remains a secondary option for the rest of the campaign.

Coady has a contract until 2027, and the possibility of signing for Wolves may not even be too attractive to him right now due to their poor position in the Premier League.
