Wolves are on course to surpass 22,000 season tickets for the Championship, with sales expected to be capped at around 22,500. According to ExpressAndStar.com, the total sold stands at 21,906.

More than 1,500 supporters on the waiting list have taken up seats, leaving only a few hundred for general sale from 9am on Monday.

The tally would be comparable to recent Premier League seasons and comfortably above their last Championship campaign in 2017-18. Cuts of at least 25 per cent on every ticket have helped drive renewals, with more than 20,000 fans re-committing despite a bottom-placed finish in the top flight.

Season tickets in the Stan Cullis and Sir Jack Hayward Stands are sold out. Around 600 remain in the Steve Bull and Billy Wright Stands.

Wolves’ focus is on making an immediate return, and the club believe a packed Molineux will give them the best chance. The Championship fixtures are due at noon on Thursday, 25 June, with the Carabao Cup first-round draw also set for that day.

Players not involved at the World Cup are due back in the first week of July, when they will meet new boss Cesar Peixoto.
