Arne Slot’s Liverpool head to Molineux on Tuesday night looking to cement their place in the top-four race against a Wolverhampton Wanderers side buoyant from a massive derby win.
The Reds arrive in the Midlands in blistering form, having won their last four fixtures across all competitions. Following a dominant 5–2 victory over West Ham on Saturday, Liverpool sit in fifth place, just three points behind Aston Villa. The Merseysiders have found their stride on the road recently, securing back-to-back 1–0 away wins at Sunderland and Nottingham Forest. A win tonight would see them secure three successive away Premier League victories for the first time since October 2024.
Wolves, meanwhile, enter this fixture following a season-defining 2–0 victory over local rivals Aston Villa on Friday. Despite sitting at the bottom of the table, Rob Edwards’ side has shown significant improvement in 2026, collecting 10 points and losing just once in their last five matches. While the hosts face a daunting historical record against the Reds, they have proved to be a “Tuesday team,” winning seven of their last nine home Premier League games played on this day.
Rob Edwards has the rare luxury of a fully fit squad. Hee-Chan Hwang is back from a calf strain, and Ladislav Krejčí returns after serving a suspension. Midfielder André, who was forced off late against Villa, has been cleared to play, as has Toti Gomes.
The visitors are expected to be without Florian Wirtz, who is recovering from a back issue. Long-term absentees Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni, and Wataru Endo are out for the season, while Alexander Isak remains sidelined with a leg injury. Jeremie Frimpong is available after making his return as a substitute last weekend.
Wolves have steadily improved under Edwards, taking points from three of the current top four sides. Their 2–0 win over Villa followed a spirited 2–2 draw with league leaders Arsenal at Molineux. Notably, each of Wolves’ last four league wins has been accompanied by a clean sheet; however, they are winless in 29 games after conceding at least once.
Liverpool have been lethal from dead-ball situations lately, with each of their last four away goals coming from set-pieces. While they were prolific against West Ham, they have also shown defensive grit, keeping three clean sheets in their last four matches. Notably, only 14% of Liverpool’s away goals this season have come in the first half, with only one strike occurring before the 45th minute.
Wolves Predicted XI: Sa; Mosquera, S Bueno, T Gomes; Tchatchoua, A Gomes, J Gomes, H Bueno; Bellegarde, Mane; Armstrong
Liverpool Predicted XI: Alisson; Frimpong, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Gakpo, Szoboszlai, Salah; Ekitike
