Brighton & Hove Albion knocked Arsenal out of the Women's FA Cup while Liverpool left it late against Charlton.

The Gunners knocked Chelsea out of the Champions League last week but looked tired against an impressive Seagulls side. It was former Arsenal star Fran Kirby who ran the show setting up both of Brighton's goals in a 2-0 win.

Kirby set up Madison Haley to fire her side ahead shortly after the restart which prompted Renée Slegers to bring on the reinforcements with Olivia Smith, Caitlin Foord, and Alessia Russo all being introduced with just under an hour gone.

However, Brighton doubled their lead through Caitlin Hayes soon after to book their spot in the FA Cup semi-final.

In the later kick-off, second-tier Charlton Athletic took Liverpool to extra-time but their resistance was finally broken in the 115th minute through the returning teenager Zara Shaw.

Jenna Clark had twice struck the woodwork before Shaw, back from an ACL injury, finally put her side ahead.

There are still two quarter-finals left to be played with Chelsea facing Tottenham Hotspur and Birmingham City hosting Manchester on Monday.
