It's official! The 2026 World Cup group stage draw, held this Friday, has handed France a challenging path. Les Bleus will face Senegal, Norway, and a play-off winner (Iraq, Bolivia, or Suriname). Speaking on M6, Hugo Lloris, former captain of Les Bleus, shared his thoughts on France's opponents.

"Senegal? It brings back some tough memories, that 2002 World Cup I watched as a fan. They're a strong side—there were some big footballing nations in pot 2, and Senegal is certainly one of them. It's going to be a real physical and athletic battle against a very good team. Norway? They're a young team with star players like Erling Haaland and Martin Ødegaard leading this talented generation. That's a tough group for Les Bleus. (...) I'm not necessarily worried, but I do hope they don't burn too much energy in this group stage," assessed the former French international.
