The qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup (Africa Zone) will continue in October with matches for the 9th and 10th rounds of the group stage.
Senegal is the new leader of Group B with an impressive haul of 18 points. The Lions have claimed 5 wins and 3 draws, putting them 2 points ahead of their closest pursuers, the DR Congo Leopards.
Senegal qualification
- 6 points from their next two matches against South Sudan and Mauritania
- 4 points from those two matches, provided DR Congo does not win both of theirs
- 3 points from those two games, provided DR Congo achieves the same result; or just 1 point, as long as DR Congo also picks up only one
- 2 defeats in their last two games, provided DR Congo earns only a single point and Sudan does not win both of their remaining matches
DR Congo qualification
- 6 points from their next two matches against Togo and Sudan, and a Senegal defeat in either of their remaining games
Sudan qualification
6 points from their final two matches against Mauritania and DR Congo, coupled with double defeats for both Senegal and DR Congo, and a superior goal difference
