While just a few hours ago he was reviewing the 2025 Club World Cup, FIFA president Gianni Infantino addressed the issue of "heat". A factor that could disrupt next year's World Cup in the United States.

The FIFA president responded to the intense heat that hit during the Club World Cup. "It’s a real issue, and we need to think about solutions to improve this. We introduced cooling breaks and watered the pitches. We have covered stadiums, so we’ll be using them more during the day," said Gianni Infantino. As a reminder, 5 of the 16 venues selected for the 2026 World Cup have a roof.

The FIFA boss also took stock of the Club World Cup. And for him, it’s been a resounding success: "We generated more than two billion dollars in revenue, which amounts to 31 million dollars per match. No other tournament comes close to that. It’s a huge, huge, huge success," he said.

"PSG and Chelsea fans have been incredible from the start. The golden age of club football has begun. We can say with certainty that this Club World Cup has been a massive success […] It’s already the most successful club competition in the world. Our numbers are breaking records," he added.
