Xavi sends personal message to Barcelona star | OneFootball

Barcelona legend Xavi has taken to social media, to send a message of congratulations the way of Blaugrana youngster Marc Bernal.

This comes fresh off a special weekend for the midfielder.

Barcelona were of course back in action on Saturday, welcoming Mallorca to the Spotify Camp Nou for a La Liga clash.

Bernal was for his part introduced to proceedings off the bench late on, for his latest cameo amid long-term efforts to recover full fitness.

And en route to an eventual 3-0 triumph, the 18-year-old rounded out the scoring in supreme style.

Surging through on goal, the Spaniard cut back onto his trusty left foot, before slotting home into the bottom corner.

This marked the first goal of Bernal’s senior career, with the teen having responded by kissing the Barcelona badge.

And as alluded to above, such efforts have since culminated in a message of congratulations on the part of a Blaugrana icon.

Taking to his official Instagram account, ex-Barca midfielder and manager Xavi unveiled a pair of photos of Bernal, accompanied by the caption:

‘Congratulations Marc!!’
