Barcelona entertained Atletico Madrid at the Nou Camp earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a good result at home in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal clash. The Catalan club made a slow start to the game and found themselves at a numerical disadvantage in the 44th minute when Pau Cubarsi was sent off by the referee. Julian Alvarez gave the visitors the lead just a minute later as Hansi Flick’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.
Alexander Sorloth doubled his team’s advantage in the 70th minute as Barcelona crashed to a tough 2-0 loss at the Nou Camp.

He made one good save at the back, but conceded two goals tonight.

Kounde earned the ball back once and had a couple of lively moments going forward.
CB: Pau Cubarsi – 5.5/10
He put his foot through the ball when he could in the first half, but let his teammates down by getting sent off in the 44th minute.

Martin did his fair share of defending, but it was not enough tonight.

LB: Joao Cancelo – 6.5/10
He caught the eye at times on both ends of the field.
CM: Eric Garcia – 6.5/10
Garcia came back to defend when he could and made two decent chances in the final third.
CM: Pedri – 6/10
He failed to protect his backline but was bright on the ball.
RW: Lamine Yamal – 8/10
Yamal was a constant menace in the final third, but there was no goal for him.
CAM: Dani Olmo – 7/10
He was a positive influence on both halves.
LW: Marcus Rashford – 7/10
Rashford was a constant menace inside the opponent’s half but failed to take his chances.
ST: Robert Lewandowski – 6/10
He was quiet in the first half and was replaced at half-time.
