Roman Iaremtchouk, also written Yaremchuk, has joined OL on loan from Olympiakos for €1.5m, with a €5m non-obligatory purchase option. The Ukraine striker offers a different, complementary profile to Endrick.

The club said in a statement that the deal was completed two hours before the winter window closed on Monday, aligning with Paulo Fonseca’s wish for an experienced forward.

The 30-year-old, 1.91 m, is under contract at Olympiakos until June 2028. His arrival follows Endrick’s loan from Real Madrid on 1 January and the €7.5m signing of Noah Nartey, with bonuses up to €2.5m.

Before the probable addition of PSG centre-back Noham Kamara, 19 and 1.85 m, who is expected to join on loan with an option described as obligatory, Fonseca pushed for this reinforcement. He had considered the player months earlier and had not planned to lose Martin Satriano, who left for Getafe on loan costing up to €300,000, with a €6.5m option.

Iaremtchouk has 65 caps and 17 goals for Ukraine, and has played in Belgium for La Gantoise and Bruges, in Portugal for Benfica, in Spain for Valencia and, for the last 18 months, in Greece for Olympiakos, where he has won three trophies.

This season he featured for only 12 minutes in the Champions League against Barcelona, a 6-0 defeat. He attended OL’s match with Lille on Sunday at Groupama Stadium and caught up with former Bruges team-mate Clinton Mata.
