Newcastle United have now made a new formal bid for Yoane Wissa,

This follows talks between the two clubs as they look for an acceptable figure to agree on.

Both Sky Sports and The Mail report that the new bid is a £40m deal.

A major upgrade on the original opening bid of £25m from Newcastle United.

Yoane Wissa turns 29 in 14 days time and the new offer is reported to be £35m guaranteed and another £5m in potential future add-ons.

Sky Sports say state that Newcastle United are now awaiting the response from Brentford but NUFC hopeful that this time they can seal a deal for the striker.

The Mail report that Yoane Wissa is at the Brentford training ground on Wednesday afternoon waiting to hear what the outcome will be.

It was previously reported after the weekend, that there would be a big push by Newcastle United this week to try and get a deal finally done at last but with less than two weeks to go until the window closes, NUFC could walk away if feeling they need to move on and accept Yoane Wissa won’t be a summer 2025 signing.
