Newcastle United summer signing Yoane Wissa is set to train with his new teammates for the first time on Friday, according to the Daily Mail.
The DR Congo international striker joined the club on transfer deadline day and has yet to train as a Newcastle player.
Wissa jetted off for the World Cup qualifiers after completing his move and sustained an injury blow on Tuesday.
He was forced off with a knee issue in the 74th minute during a 3-2 defeat to Senegal, returning to England this morning.
The Newcastle medical staff have checked the former Brentford star and is ready to start against Wolverhampton Wanderers if selected.
It is a massive boost for manager Eddie Howe as the Magpies search for their first win of the 2025-26 Premier League campaign.
Newcastle started the season with a goalless draw with Aston Villa before losing 3-2 to Liverpool and drawing 0-0 at Leeds United before the international break.
Their lack of firepower in attack has been evident in the absence of Alexander Isak. Having Wissa available on Saturday, in front of the home crowd, is good news.
Newcastle also signed Germany international striker Nick Woltemade from VfB Stuttgart towards the end of the transfer window.
It is unknown whether Howe would prefer him in the starting XI ahead of Wissa or play both together.
With Anthony Gordon not available for selection against Wolves due to his red card against Liverpool, the Newcastle boss could also opt for William Osula and Jacob Murphy to lead the line.
Wissa has yet to play club football this season, but he proved his match fitness by weighing in with two goals and one assist during the international break.
Woltemade also made one assist against Northern Ireland on Sunday and will be raring to go against Wolves.
