Phil Foden has issued a minor hint towards what the future may hold for him and Manchester City, speaking during a new conversation.

The 24-year-old has been associated with the reigning Premier League champions for well over a decade, and now finds himself as one of the integral members of Pep Guardiola’s first-team squad, having undergone a development phase over the last eight seasons.

Having first been integrated into the Catalan’s first-team picture back in 2017, Foden has operated in a multitude of roles under Guardiola including both winger roles in a front-three, but now finds himself as a crucial attacking midfield profile for the club.

Given that Phil Foden is a known boyhood Manchester City fan, known to have been sat behind the goal during Sergio Aguero’s infamous 93:20 moment against QPR in 2012, there is a firm belief that the Etihad Stadium club have a generational talent on their hands for life.

And that is a feeling that Foden has alluded to during a new conversation with the club for a documentary released on their website, pointing out his life-long association with Manchester City to date.

Speaking during a new documentary produced by City Studios, Phil Foden has spoken of his personal connection with the club, the city, and its supporters, providing him with a home where there is simply ‘nowhere better’ in the game.

“I have a special connection with the fans, especially growing up here and playing in every age group,” said Foden.

“You never know what the future holds but I’m happy here and there is nowhere better.”

Across the course of his nine seasons at the club to date, Phil Foden has recorded a hugely commendable 277 appearances across all competitions, scoring 88 goals in the process to aid an outstanding tally of 17 trophies.

Among those collective honours are six Premier league trophies in the last seven seasons, and a UEFA Champions League title, with Foden starring in the final against Inter at the end of their Treble-winning season of 2022/23.
