Yuri Alberto and Kaio César remain out for Corinthians against Coritiba | OneFootball

Corinthians will again be without Yuri Alberto and Kaio César for Wednesday’s meeting with Coritiba at Neo Química Arena, scheduled for 21:30 in the fifth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro. According to Meu Timao, the attacking pair will not be named in Dorival Júnior’s squad.

Both forwards have rejoined full training, but remain in conditioning work before returning to selection. In their absence, Dorival is expected to start Memphis Depay alongside either Gui Negão or Pedro Raul.

Kaio César has been sidelined since 5 February after suffering a thigh issue during the 3-0 win over Capivariano. Yuri Alberto sustained a similar problem against São Bernardo on 15 February in the final round of the Campeonato Paulista first phase.

After facing Coritiba, Corinthians visit Santos in the Baixada Santista on Sunday at 16:00 in the sixth round. There is an expectation the duo could be back in the matchday group for the Clássico Alvinegro.

Dorival’s side sit third with seven points from four matches, three behind leaders Palmeiras and São Paulo. Victory on Wednesday would draw them level with those rivals, who play on Thursday.
