Yuri Alberto set to return, Carrillo misses Corinthians training

Forward Yuri Alberto already has a set date to return to activities at Corinthians. After spending some time in Italy to obtain Italian citizenship, the player is expected to join the black-and-white squad's training session this Friday (9), at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava.

The number 9 did not participate in the first preseason sessions because he did not report back with the group last Saturday. The forward returned to Brazil on Thursday night.

During his stay in Europe, Yuri used social media to share photos of his outings as well as his physical exercise routine during this period, indicating that he maintained athletic activities even while abroad.

Although the forward remains on Roma's radar, who even made an offer valued at R$ 190 million that was rejected by Corinthians, the black-and-white board states that there are no ongoing negotiations. The club emphasizes that the trip was strictly personal and had been previously communicated by the player's staff to the board and coaching staff last year.

Preparation for the Paulistão debut

While awaiting Yuri Alberto's return, Corinthians continues preparing for their debut in the Campeonato Paulista. On Thursday morning, the squad held activities at the training center focused on the match against Ponte Preta, scheduled for Sunday at 4pm (Brasília time), at Neo Química Arena.

Besides Yuri, other players also did not participate in training. Memphis Depay and Raniele continued individual physical activities inside the training center. Rodrigo Garro remains in recovery after surgery on the scaphoid bone of his left wrist. José Martínez is still out as he has not managed to complete the reissuance of his Venezuelan passport, while André Carrillo was absent due to a fever.

The squad will train again this Friday, continuing preparations for the first official match of the season.
