Zlatan Ibrahimović names the greatest club in Europe!
Zlatan Ibrahimović: "Manchester United is the biggest club in the world"
Never one to mince words, Zlatan Ibrahimović has opened up about the reasons that drove him to join Manchester United in 2016.
"That is the team I wanted to shine with. That is the team that I knew fitted me. I’ve always watched their success, especially under Ferguson. Their influence is incredible, their global fanbase unmatched. Manchester United has to be one of the best clubs in the world… if not the very best. They have my respect," the Swedish striker revealed.
Arriving on a free transfer after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, Ibrahimović wasted no time making his mark at Old Trafford. In just two seasons wearing the United shirt, he racked up 53 appearances, netting 29 goals and providing 10 assists across all competitions. His impact was instant, especially during the 2016-2017 campaign, when he spearheaded the Red Devils to a remarkable treble: Community Shield, League Cup, and Europa League.
Even though his English adventure was cut short by a serious knee injury, Ibrahimović left an indelible mark on the club’s recent history. His charisma, leadership, and clinical finishing left a lasting impression on supporters, who still regard him as one of the key architects of United’s post-Ferguson resurgence.
