Never one to mince words, Zlatan Ibrahimović has opened up about the reasons that drove him to join Manchester United in 2016.

"That is the team I wanted to shine with. That is the team that I knew fitted me. I’ve always watched their success, especially under Ferguson. Their influence is incredible, their global fanbase unmatched. Manchester United has to be one of the best clubs in the world… if not the very best. They have my respect," the Swedish striker revealed.

A memorable spell despite its brevity

Arriving on a free transfer after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, Ibrahimović wasted no time making his mark at Old Trafford.
